Crystal's birth of Lillyanna

Crystal's birth of Lillyanna

Lilly's story starts early, I found out I was pregnant when I was about 6 week and I started bleeding but no cramps.  I talked to the midwife and she suggested that I might want to do an Ultrasound to see what was going on. But my husband and I decided to wait til to see if it stops and it did for a couple of weeks but one night I woke up to lots of bleeding. In the morning I called again and asked to see if I could get the U\S that she suggested so she set it up for that day. They found out that I had a retrograde hematoma behind the placenta. Saying that it would either resolve on its own or the baby would miscarry.

The rest of the pregnancy went fairly well and she stayed in until 41 weeks and 5 days even though we tried to induce earlier so that her daddy would be there.  We had kept the sex of the baby a secret from the kids. My girls wanted a girl or they was going to move out and the boys wanted both (they could not make up their minds). On the day that she was to be born I woke up and made a big breakfast and made the call to the midwife and got the OK to induce one more time.  So the Castor oil it would be.  The midwives wanted to be notified when it kicked in this was a 9am.  By 1pm it kicked in and they came out they checked me I was 2.5 and very high like she could barely feel her head and we started the homoeopathics and breastfeeding my youngest in rounds of 15min with walking in between. After about 45mins I was using the breast pump my baby had gone to sleep, all that milk had put him right out, I felt a sudden grinding of bone on bone with a slight popping feeling, my water had broke but I leaked only about a cup full of liquid or so.  I walked more and the contractions picked up but I was not sure I was even in labour. I went in to the house and paced in there but I was to hot and so many people in there I just had to get out. So more walking. We went in and I went to the bathroom and used it. I sat there and told myself that I might be in transition but no I told myself it was to early and NOT going to happen today I was convinced that I was going to have to go to the hospital and have this baby.

The pain got to the point that I needed the tub now!  So Ben got the water started and I undressed and got in.  Boy did that feel good until I had to stand up for them to get the heart tones see the position I and baby was in they could not get it in the water.   The contractions got loads harder and closer and my sounds got deeper with each one.  I had to get on my knees for a quick change but the midwife could not reach behind me to help with the birth so after the next contraction I turn over and the midwife ask me if I felt like I needed to push and I DID. It was not til then did I really know that I was in true labour. Until then I thought that it would stop and not come.  But after she said that I pushed a bit and she came down so I bared down and half of her head came out but she got stuck and I felt her move and turn to come the out. I stopped pushing and got a breath of air and then started to pushed again. Her cord was cord was wrapped around her neck they got it unwrapped right before I pushed and she came out with a whoosh all her water after her. the midwife barely caught before she hit the side of the tub with her head. They put her on my stomach and we waited to see her pink up and cry out.  She did then I got out of the tub and went to bed to have the placenta.  She was born at 4:24 with only an hour and half of labour. I am glad she is here and my other girls don't want to move out any more!
