Featured Birth Story of the day
This story is just a little weird. Not necessarily supernatural but, well.... read for yourself.
Sandria's Birth of Jacquelin
I went to the doctor on a Wednesday because I was having contractions. He said "I'll see you tonight." So all night Wednesday and all day Thursday I was still having contractions but nothing that was major. A horrible snowstorm started on Thursday night and went into Friday morning. In the middle of the night a bird had gotten into the house. So we were working on chasing this bird out. It was really weird. I was up anyway so I decided to take a shower.
Shortly after my shower, it was still the middle of the night; a woman stopped by because she was lost. The snowstorm was so bad that she didn't know where she was. Our house was the only house with lights because I had been chasing birds and taking a shower. Then to top off this crazy night, my water broke. I was finally in full-blown labor. It was sometime around 3:00 a.m. and our woman visitor was getting a little nervous. Here I was in labor, there is no visibility, and the roads were closing due to the storm.
We decided that my husband would drive our visitor’s car to plow the way so we could follow her taillights in our car. With some luck and prayers maybe we could get to the highway and get to the hospital. The woman was driving our car because I was in hard labor and in no condition to drive. She just trusted my husband to be able to find his way better than she could. We stayed right behind the car; if we were just a few feet back we would lose site of the taillights. It was a full-blown blizzard.
We finally got to the hospital safely. The hospital trip would normally take about 15 minutes and it took us over 45 minutes. We got to the hospital and I was checked. The doctor said, "I'm going to get a cup of coffee; you're not quite ready yet." I said I was ready, and so did the nurse.
He went and had coffee and I had a baby.
